Burris Speedbead®

With the Burris SpeedBead System, both the target and the red dot remain in focus. The optics and their position on the sight plane eliminate the need for perfect left/right, up/down head position for an accurate shot. The innovative mount puts the center of the optic directly in line with the ventilated rib, so altering your shooting style is not necessary. And with 3 1/2 to 4 1/2" of eye relief, there is absolutely no worry about your eyebrow running into the sight nor any interference with your hand gripping the shotgun.

    Great

    About Me

    Comments:

I have had a Speedbead for about 7 years now. Works perfectly on my 1100, 11-87, and my 870. Soooo much better than the old Weaver Qwik-Point from years ago. Ran a straight at Skeet the first time I took it out. Thank you for making excellent products.

    About Me

    Comments:

Easy mount to the 870. Worked perfectly until I broke the lens, no fault of Burris just abuse. Burris replaced it, no questions asked.

    To fragile for heavy loads

    By Mike Phillips

    from Murfreesboro, TN, United States

    About Me

    Comments:

I purchase this Speed Bead for my Beretta Xtreama 3 1/2" for duck hunting. After mounting and and test firing to zero the sight malfunctioned after less than 1/2 a box of 3" mag shells. The vertical adjustment failed to function. The sight would most likely work well with light loads such as skeet and trap loads or dove loads but is to fragile for heavy duck loads.

    Increase your hits!

    By Buffaloman

    About Me

    Comments:

At 72 years old, my eyes are getting tired and I thought I'd never shot a shotgun again. After a friend showed me his SpeedBead sight, I knew it would help me but WOW, did it ever. When I draw up on a bird, I now know exactly where I am shooting because I can focus on the bird and see in my peripheral vision where the red dot is. It does not block out the bird, only show relationships. It really improves the sight picture in low light such as early in the morning or just before quitting time. It is also good for dark days as well. The mounting system is well designed and relatively easy to install.Sighting in is a simple alignment with the present front bead sight of your shotgun. It stays on target once sighted in. I have never been a good shot but after installing the SpeedBead my shooting improved . The last four days of goose season, I shot 12 times. I bagged 6 geese. That includes an opportunity where I & my partner pulled up on a dozen geese early in the morning and both emptied our guns without a single hit. The birds were legs down into the decoys at 30 yards. First flock of the day. Man were they lucky. Even with the Speed Bead, you can't flock shoot ! I even purchased a second mount to go onto another shotgun I use for ducks and pheasants. Obviously I recommend this sight. The next improvement would be for Burris to develop additional mounting systems for more manufacturers and for 20 ga shotguns. While its a big investment, it is well worth it your me to keep shooting.

    Difficult Mounting

    By gooser

    About Me

    Comments:

I have tried a Speed Bead (Brother's shotgun) and thought it was great so I thought I would put one on my Benelli SBE II. It is extremely difficult to mount the Speed Bead on the stock. The pins on the mounting plate are so difficult to insert into the stock holes, the foam padding that is supposed to remain between the Speed Bead base and stock rips when trying to install as per the instructions (see photo). I guess that's why they provide two in the package. Second attempt (after destroying first foam padding on installation) would have the same results.

    First Red Dot Scope

    By Russell

    from Missouri, United States

    About Me

    Comments:

I purchased the Burris FastFire III 8-MOA as my first red dot scope so I was unsure what to expect. What I found was that when mounted on a 223 rifle I am able to hit the target with very little accuracy. I think this is because I lack enough experience with this type scope. The dot covers the entire target and it difficult to aim consistently. It is my opinion that this type sight would work much better on a shotgun or use MOA of 2 or 3 for a rifle. I decided on the Burris scope because of the warranty "Every Burris optic is covered by the Burris Forever Warranty". How can you go wrong with a warranty like that? The scope is compact, lightweight, but the dot appears a bit fuzzy and it is difficult to use the combination off and brightness button. It isn't very sensitive and it takes several tries to get to work.
